Towing Guidelines
Model Y is designed primarily as a passenger-carrying vehicle. Towing a trailer
puts additional load on the motor(s), drive train, brakes, tires, and suspension
and significantly decreases range. If you decide to tow a trailer, proceed with
caution and follow these general guidelines:
Reduce
Powering Off
When you finish driving, simply exit the vehicle. When
you leave Model Y with your phone key and key fob, it
powers off automatically, turning off the instrument
panel and touchscreen.
Model Y also powers off automatically after being in
Park for 30 minutes, even if you are sitting in the drive
